About Who Won It

Who Won It is a free, independent website that makes UK public contract awards easy to search. Every day, public bodies award contracts worth millions of pounds, and they must publish notices about them. Those notices are public, but the official services are built for filing notices, not for answering questions.

This site answers the questions people actually have:

• Who won? Every award links to a page for the supplier, listing every other public contract it has won.
• Who is buying? Each council, NHS body, university or department has a page showing what it buys and which suppliers it uses most.
• Was there a competition? Awards made without an open competition are clearly marked, with a plain-English explanation of what that means.
• What is happening in my sector or region? Sector and region pages show recent activity, the busiest buyers and the most successful suppliers.

Who it is for

Businesses that sell to the public sector use it to research competitors and find buyers who purchase what they sell. Bid writers use it to understand incumbents before a re-tender. Journalists, councillors and campaigners use it to follow public spending. It is free and needs no account.

Independence

Who Won It is not affiliated with the UK government, Find a Tender, or any buyer or supplier listed. The site is funded by advertising and clearly labelled featured placements; advertisers have no influence over the data.

Corrections and contact

The data comes from notices published by public bodies, and we show it as published. If you spot a matching error on our side, for example two companies merged together, email hello@whowonit.co.uk. Errors in a notice itself need to be corrected by the buyer that published it.
