Description
The PSNI require a contractor to supply and delivery of Public Order Baselayers and Balaclavas. The PSNI currently has a number of officers who perform duty in a public order capacity or train officers in those duties. The Uniform and Protective Measures Committee (UPMC) have directed that these officers must have suitable clothing to enable them to perform their range of duties. By necessity, these items must provide a greater level of protection. The wearing of flame retardant underwear and balaclavas by officers in some situations will assist in the deceleration of the spread of flames and help dissipate ensuing high temperatures. These items will also assist with the dispersion and evaporation of sweat, thus reducing the possibility of heatstroke. The contract shall be for an initial period of 36 months with 1 extension of 24 months by agreement of both parties. The successful supplier should note that the prices are to be fixed for an initial period of 36 months.
