Description
Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) provides access to highly specialist testing and clinical advice for clinicians and patients with suspected or diagnosed forms of CJD. The service is for patients across England and the devolved nations.<br/><br/>NHSE assumed commissioning and funding responsibility for the service on 1 April 2025 from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC). The diagnostics/clinical advice service is currently provided by the University of Edinburgh. Surveillance is now led by the public health systems in each nation independently, but data is collated and reported collectively on behalf of the UK by UKHSA.<br/><br/>This is an contract award notice to inform the market of the urgent award under the Health Care Services Provider Selection Regime Regulations 2023 (PSR), regulation 14 to University of Edinburgh.
