Awarded without open competition
Awarded without open competition. The buyer went directly to one or a few suppliers instead of advertising the contract. Procurement rules allow this only in specific cases, such as extreme urgency, when only one supplier can do the work, or for call-offs from an existing framework.

Description
NHS Cheshire and Merseyside ICB Cheshire East Place have approved a modification to a contract that was awarded under the Public Contract Regulations 2015. The existing contract to deliver elective care Ophthalmology and Gastroenterology Services across Cheshire & Merseyside was placed on 1st April 2023 and expired 31st March 2025. This modification takes up the Contractual Option to Extend within the original contract and adds an additional one year to the contract term. As a result the modified expiry date is 31st March 2026. The original contract was a zero based contract, however, the indicative annual spend of £1,825,833 has been included here.
