Awarded without open competition
Awarded without open competition. The buyer went directly to one or a few suppliers instead of advertising the contract. Procurement rules allow this only in specific cases, such as extreme urgency, when only one supplier can do the work, or for call-offs from an existing framework.

Description
The contract extension has been proposed to allow time for a decision on the strategy for Community Diagnostic Centre plans in East Suffolk by way of detailed planning of activity/capacity across the footprint to enable longer term planning. Contract extension covers the period 01.10.2023 to 30.09.2024. Suffolk GP Federation have held the contract since 01.04.2021 and there is a clear benefit to be gained from maintaining continuity during the planning period which outweighs the potential financial advantage to be gained by competitive tendering at this point for a single year direct award.
