Awarded without open competition
Awarded without open competition. The buyer went directly to one or a few suppliers instead of advertising the contract. Procurement rules allow this only in specific cases, such as extreme urgency, when only one supplier can do the work, or for call-offs from an existing framework.

Description
Ru-106 eye applicators are ophthalmic brachytherapy plaques used primarily for treating uveal melanoma, retinoblastoma, and other ocular tumors. They consist of a thin film of Ru-106 beta-emitting isotope, encapsulated in pure silver sheets, with a total thickness of only 1 mm, making them easy to handle and position on the eye surface. The beta radiation has a limited range, allowing high doses to tumors up to 5 mm in thickness while sparing sensitive structures like the optic disc and fovea. Additional information: Approximately six (6) Ru-106 Eye Applicators required to be purchased and returned per year, this contract will cover a 36 month period
