Description
This commission is required to provide specialist technical support to Active Travel England (ATE) during periods of high demand, ensuring that walking, wheeling and cycling schemes across England are independently reviewed, inspected and assured against national design and accessibility standards before public funding is committed or schemes are delivered. The work will cover the review of hundreds of transport schemes, major planning applications and local development plans, helping to identify design issues early, improve public safety, accessibility and value for money, and reduce the risk of poorly designed infrastructure requiring costly remediation after construction.
