Description
This contract is for the provision of constructing of a new teaching block with associated groundworks at the rear of the site of the existing Shepwell School to accommodate an additional 50 special educational needs (SEN) pupils together with additional playground facilities. The Shepwell School located on Bilston Lane in the town of Willenhall in Walsall was built in the 1970s as an Adult Education Centre, now operates as a Short Stay School and Specialist Autism Resource Base. It accommodates pupils aged 11-16 with social, emotional, and complex educational needs. The project is to address a shortfall in SEND school places by increasing capacity from 84 to 134 pupils through the addition of a new two-storey teaching block. The modular design will minimise construction disruption and improve site safety, sustainability, and accessibility.
