Description

The UK Government is launching the new Crisis and Resilience Fund on 1 April 2026, running until 31 March 2029, providing multiyear grant funding for local authorities across England. The CRF replaces the Household Support Fund (HSF) and Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP), establishing a single, long-term framework for local crisis support. The CRF has 3 main outcomes: - Provide effective crisis support to people on low incomes experiencing financial shocks. - Improve individual and community financial resilience, using an outcomes-based approach, and reducing the need for repeat crisis support. - Improve and integrate the wider local support front door system by mapping the local landscape, enabling more preventative and holistic assistance, and using digital solutions where appropriate.
