Awarded without open competition
Awarded without open competition. The buyer went directly to one or a few suppliers instead of advertising the contract. Procurement rules allow this only in specific cases, such as extreme urgency, when only one supplier can do the work, or for call-offs from an existing framework.

Description
This urgent contract award is made on the grounds of patient safety, to accelerate provision of psychological therapy services to patients in Suffolk. The urgent contract award is made to provide additional interim capacity that is not currently available within the service. The contractor will be engaged as a contingency provider, should the existing service not have sufficient capacity to treat patients within the specified care plan duration. This measure is being taken to mitigate against potential patient harm due to elongated access times. The contractor has been identified as suitable provider, with sufficient capacity and capability, to facilitate a contract from 1st November 2024 to 31st October 2025
