Description
This contract will be for a development partner for Castleford, to guide and coordinate regeneration across the town. It will: • Align existing and future initiatives (e.g. Towns Fund, Pride in Places Programme) under a unified strategic vision. • Coordinate public and private sector efforts to unlock housing, employment, and placemaking opportunities. • Support town centre revitalisation, including public realm improvements and a new riverside park. • Enhance connectivity and infrastructure to attract investment and support business growth. • Celebrate Castleford's heritage and culture through placemaking and tourism initiatives. • Ensure regeneration is holistic, future-focused, and economically sustainable, positioning Castleford as a vibrant riverside market town within West Yorkshire. Following the successful conclusion of the Pre-Development Agreement, it is Wakefield Council's intention to award the main Development Agreement which is subject to approval.
