Description
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council looks after a large range of highways and non-highway areas in various stages of repair and maintenance. Blackburn with Darwen has a unique environment and economy, which presents specific challenges to delivery of surfacing and civils schemes. \r In addition, a significant investment programme in the town is leading to increased demand for new highways, changes to layouts and modern surface finishes.\r The council has In house operational teams that carry out or supervise a variety of highway maintenance works across the borough. Maintaining the safety of the public and the Council's staff is a key consideration in delivering these works. Often these works require no provision of thermoplastic road markings. However, some of the works require replacement/renewal/removal of thermoplastic road markings that require equipment not held by the Council.
