Description

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is the UK's tax, payments, and customs authority, collecting tax revenue. HMRC collects the money that pays for the UK's public services and aids families and individuals with targeted financial support. HMRC does this by being impartial and increasingly efficient in its administration. HMRC helps the honest majority to get their tax right and makes it hard for the dishonest minority to cheat the system. 1.2 HMRC Payments are responsible for all payments in and out processes within HMRC. In 2025 to 2026, 4.8 million P800 Tax Calculation overpayment letters were issued. Approximately 1m remain uncollected due to a variety of different reasons. HMRC Payments are looking to reduce the volume of uncollected overpayments by securing contact detail, mobile number, email address and postal address. 2.
