Description
The Tendring District includes the tourist towns of Clacton, Frinton, Walton, Brightlingsea, Harwich and Manningtree. The district's main areas of population being seaside with the Centre of the district being rural. Residential property numbers for Tendring District of approximately 75,210 as of July 2024 with the Councils current local plan target of 550 new build properties per year and for 2022/23 had a recycling rate of 38.60%. With the seafront areas within Tendring attracting tourists and visitors there are very wide seasonal variations in the level of use of the seafront and Town Centre areas by members of the public and in the amount of litter and waste generated. Additionally, every year a number of major public events on parts of the contract area take place which all generate the need for cleaning during and immediately after the event.
