Description
Walsall Council is looking to appoint a single competent contractor on the CWM Framework (Lot 1) to extend the current provision within the school to provide additional classrooms to facilitate non ambulant pupils. Oakwood School is a specialist provision for children aged 3 - 14 years with complex educational needs. The school is commissioned for 238 places (September 2024). The project involves the demolition of the existing outdoor classroom structure to make way for a new single-storey extension. This extension will accommodate two classrooms, WCs, fully equipped hygiene rooms, a medical room, and a link corridor connecting to the main building. Accessibility is prioritised with the inclusion of wider than standard doorsets and two new external access ramps designed to comply with current standards.
